Many of you are probably thinking "ALREADY!?!"
I know, I like to shop early. I love to spoil family and friends. This year we were able to get a lot accomplished on our vacation to Connecticut. But it is hard to get little surprises for your spouse when they are with you. SO yesterday I headed to Salt Lake City. Tuesdays are my normal day off from work, but I usually have a ton of chores to get accomplished. Yesterday I didn't so to SLC I went. I dropped Akahige off at work and went shopping. Two hours later and sore hands from heavy plastic bags, I was done. Now I have to get them all wrapped before he accidentally sees the loot. Only people left to get gifts for are my inlaws and my stepsister. Which is a huge decrease in the list since we had my sisters boys as well and there are 5 of them. We still have to meet with my older sister and hammer out details for my father and stepmom's present as well. So getting Akahige's shopping done is huge.
I also cashed in on a Christmas gift that is 7 years old last night. When we were dating Akahige gave me a coupon book with tons of cool things I could cash in on in the future when we both had good jobs and a little extra cash. So last night he took me to see Into The Woods at the Hale Centre Theatre. We enjoyed the time together, but were a little disappointed with the lack of humor in the show. Being a production where the plot is loosely based off of Grimm Bro Fairy Tales, we were expecting more humor. It was nice seeing the show break down the stupid Disney renditions. But they still had to put in all the princesses. Oh well. It was great to be able to go to the theater again. If you ever get a chance to go see a production at the Hale, do. It was awesome as far as the stage set up. It is actually a round stage (stage in the center, like Shakespeare) and the set would raise and lower all over the floor, the whole theater was decorated to give you the feel of being in the woods. It was just amazing!
No pictures today, sorry. When I get a chance I will get some shots of this wonderful stormy fall weather with snow in the peaks. But until then.
I need to get my mailing out for November and December's promo. Finish a scrapbook for my grandmother and most of all enjoy Autumn and hot coco

Able to Breath Again
Well October in a nutshell was insane. I am glad to welcome in November with the stormy ski and snowy mountains. Here are some pictures from October.
We hosted a murder Mystery at our friends home. It was The Chicago Caper. It was a 1920's mobster murder. We enjoyed an evening at the a speakeasy with the finest Mormon hooch one could find. Akahige was cast as Ernie R Gyle, a golfer gamblin type of fella. I was cast as "Scoop", a fast talkin, digger of dirt for the local paper. I made Akahige's knickers and we were able to find the rest of the costume except for hat and argyle socks from clothing here at the house. By the time I got his done and all my other projects I scrounged mine together. I didn't even have time to curl my hair. First 3 pictures our of our stylin hosts, the 4th picture is of our cache friends, 5th picture is yours truly after a long night hitting the hooch and the final shot is of our whole crew.
I finally managed to get the commissioned quilt finished. I started this lap quilt (the size you cuddle under while watching TV or reading a book) back in May. I finished the top in July and got it on the frame then. But between our trip to Southern Utah for reunions, to CT for more reunions, and work it didn't get much attention. I was able to finish 3 out of the 7 rows before we left to CT in August. It took so long mostly because of the extra thickness. But it is sure cozy and awesome looking. I hope that it is loved through out the years.
We got to see my neice be baptized this month as well. It was a pleasure to witness. My father was able to do the baptism, but because she is considered a convert (due to age) my father moved away before he was able to do the confirmation. So she asked my brother-in-law to confirm her. Congratulations K!
We went to my grandma's and pulled up all the vines and tomato plants the first part of October before our first snow storm of the season. The tomatoes were enjoyed by many throughout the summer, but next year (if I plant) I am only doing a couple tomato plants instead of 16.
I am a member of International Friendship Quilters, for Christmas one of the activities is Christmas crackers. You fill these crackers with whatever goodies you could find. Once created you are given names for individuals who also signed up for the exchange. Then you post them off to the people you are assigned. Mine are headed to Canada, Australia, and Italy. I in return get crackers from those three individuals, to open on Christmas morning. I can hardly wait!
Well that and the furniture (previously posted) is what my October has looked like. November will be a little more low key. I have already accomplished my calling for church. I have a project to make for family's to put keepsakes in when they lose their baby at the hospital. (similar to my box of Gideon's keepsakes) A couple of Christmas presents to finish up on and Hanukkah gifts to get mailed. And then a week of helping my grandma get ready and host Thanksgiving. Much smaller list then Octobers. Plus this is the most WONDERFUL time of the year!
