Busily Behind

I know it has been a few months since my last update. A few weeks back my home pc became quite ill. So my time at home has been focused on trying to catch up on quilting projects rather then pc time. Hopefully it will be fixed by next week and I can add pictures to this lengthy post.

In May I got an orchid for Mothers Day. My back went south again. We went on a camping trip up to Southern Idaho with Akahiges family over Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed their company but not that of our inconsiderate neighbors. Gave Akahige and I a new distaste for ATV owners. We also had a BBQ with my siblings after they attended a Dave Ramsey show in SLC. We hope that they were all able to gain some knowledge from him about finances, since it was a topic not taught well at our home growing up.

Work has been quite unbalanced this month. I am tired of procrastinators trying to cram their lack of caring into my busy schedule. I have been telling many people that I am not really feeling like a nice therapist at the current moment. If you have a gift certificate for 6 months and fail to use it until last minute and can't get in because I am booked for 3 weeks in advance do not demand that I extend your certificate. Work becomes a little unbalanced when I take time off anyways, but it is something I have to do for me from time to time.

This month has been crazy in the personal front too. We had a fun weekend watching my 5 nephews while my oneesan and her husband took the baby and went to a mission reunion. We set up our tent in our living room and piled the blankets, pillows, and stuffed teddy bears high. We enjoyed hot dogs for dinner and watched the pirate Backyard Agains. About bedtime the youngest came to realize that he was actually sleeping over and not just having a fun play date. He found comfort in the teddy bears bigger then him and soon feel asleep. The second to oldest was really intrigued by the game our friends brought to play and was bummed out the next morning to find that they took it home with them. Sunday morning they were all up bright and early so I started on a Pancake breakfast. We got them all cleaned up and ready for church. We went and visited our old ward, because they had an earlier meeting schedule and I had a VT appointment that day, that I needed to make it too. The youngest was pretty exhausted and not feeling the best so he slept in my arms with a big teddy during Relief Society. Overall I think everyone had a good time, but they were glad to be going home. Not too scary for their first time having a sleep over without mom and dad. Akahige and I survived the sudden increase of 5 boys in our family as well.


Our next adventure takes us to Boise. We had a marvelous time, and I did enjoy our fabulous hotel. Akahige and I attended our first Iaido National Seminar. It was wonderful. Our instructors for the 3 days were 70+year old men from Japan. We learned so much and look forward to being able to apply it in our Iaido. We also became acquainted with many of the fellow practitioners around the USA and even some from other countries. Akahige also competed in the tournament. He won his first match and his iai was magnificent. He lost his second match to the fellow who ended up placing 2nd in our rank. We all think he did great, and he can hardly wait to compete again. He thrives well in competition when I usually shut down.

We celebrated our son's 5th birthday with a nice dinner at Goodwood BBQ. The last 5 years have been life changing and I hope for our eternal family's sake, Akahige and I are improving ourselves to be able to see our son and be with him again one day.

July is suppose to be my 10 year class reunion. Prices for tickets where announced last week and we are still trying to decide if it is an even that we want to spend $90 on. Especially since the people I really want to see are not going. July will also bring one of my dear friends Kelly, her husband, and her daughter in for a visit. They are staying at our place for a night. I can barely wait to see them. Hopefully they will bring in som e of that nice Washington rain with them, since July gets so blasted hot.

Well time to get back to the gind.

For my Oneesan

My Oneesan is in the middle of deciding what digital scrapbook program she likes. I started creating a book for my Obaasan last winter with a program Creative Memories sales. I informed her that I would post those pages on my blog so she can see the program examples better. This is from a trip down to a family reunion last summer. Akahige was brave and handled being stuck with me and my sisters all weekend. He is such an awesome man!

Glorious, beautiful, Rain

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I awoke and found it raining. Rain is the best part of spring. It is the only time this area gets to look green and lush. I do love our little valley here, we get to enjoy all 4 seasons. But fresh, lush, green only happens in the spring.


The plum tree out our door is in bloom. It is the only survivor from our neighbors yard after he got a bee in his bonnet and decided to destroy the lilac bushes. I just hope that the tree makes it another year.

Also the rain gets rid of the allergens in the air, which should help me feel better soon.



On a green note, Akahige got a new bike. We picked it up in Park City last Tuesday. It is a little newer then last years with fewer miles. It is Aston green, very pretty. Akahige is planning on putting reflector tape on the black plastic bits, cause he is tired of idiots not "seeing" him. He also purchased new riding gear yesterday. We will have to do more pictures of that later. He got himself an armored jacket, gauntlets, and a carbon fiber helmet. All in blue with black and white accents. We also need to find a place to get the top box repainted because it is blue and not green. Then he has to change out the seat and bar so the top box can go on, then I can ride with him. Because of all of this, he doesn't like the rain. He really wants to be out riding. Oh well.

I think it should just keep on raining because it is glorious!

Sick....again

Something is wrong with me this year, I have gotten a cough twice within the last 8 weeks.
Downside to owning my own business is I don't get sick days....*sigh*

*update* Dr. says I have bronchitis. It has been a few years since I managed to pull that one off. I am now on antibiotics and still very sleep deprived since I get to sleep in one hour spurts before the cough attacks.

A week to go before the big scrap booking weekend and I still lack a second LMT to help out. Right now I am to exhausted to care.

7 years

7 years ago this March I gained an eternal best friend. He is the light of my life. No one can drive me as crazy or have me laughing as hard. He is a wonderful, intelligent, adventurous, and caring. I am grateful everyday that I get to wake up by his side.

Breaking Valentines

In the spirit of our blog I will introduce you to our anti Valentine's traditions. Akahige hates being told when to show his love for me. So through the last 7 years he has done different things in February to show his affection, always trying to avoid the 14th. This year he got a good jump on me.
After returning from physical therapy (long story for a different post) I pulled into my drive and saw a box on the step. Now the man had informed me that there are many packages come, bogu bag, sword bag, memory for palm pilot, etc. So when i opened the package and found a bundle of flowers all of my favorite sort, I was most excited.

Secrets

So I have been neglecting any recent posts manly due to the fact that most of my recent creations have been Christmas presents.

But I did finish a Christmas quilt that I have been meaning to make for over 2 years now. The back is by far the best part. It is a fuzzy red fabric that is nice and toasty as well. I like it. This way I can flip it over for valentines and have an elegant looking love birds quilt.



I now have pictures of my pretty hair too. I love Weston over at Thomas Hardy Salon. He really gets my quirkiness.



We have had 2 out of 5 family parties. It has been fun and busy.

For St. Nikolas Day we went to Desert Star Theater and saw their Christmas Production. We also went to Body Worlds which was wicked awesome! Akahige even found himself liking it. The next day we had our orange rolls for breakfast and opened our gifts. Akahige gave me some D&D Mini's, the book and DVD from Body Worlds, an awesome electric sander, and a Japanese Play Station game. I in return gave him a bundle of DVD's and CD's for burning, a second XBox controller, a binder for his dvd's, some palmaid from Thomas Hardy, and a long zipper tie. We have been very blessed this year.

Well time to head. I have a lunch meeting and then an afternoon of getting to know the ladies in my neighborhood.
